The company was founded in 1905 by blacksmith Harry van de Kamp (1879–1946) in Sint-Oedenrode; the name refers to Oda of Brabant, the patron saint of the city. After the First World War, the company produced, among other things, bakery ovens, sold throughout the Netherlands and abroad – according to a 1930 advertisement, more than 7000 had been delivered – and also made steel components for the Wilhelmina Canal.
From the crisis of the 1930s, N.V. Oda-Staalwerk v/h H.J. van de Kamp came under the influence of the Ahrend group; today it operates as Ahrend Produktiebedrijf Sint-Oedenrode.
