Furniture Factory No. 1 on Kaszubska Street in Słupsk was the first of five local furniture plants to resume operations in 1945. In 1947, plant no. 3 of Państwowe Fabryki Mebli (State Furniture Factories) was opened on Grottgera Street. In 1949, the factory employed 695 people and was the largest state-owned plant in the city.
