Description
Extendable rosewood table, Denmark, 1950s/60s
Extendable round rosewood table manufactured in the 1950s/60s. Finished in dark rosewood veneer with beautiful grain on every element, and topped with solid edging and solid, slightly tapered legs. Solid construction and a well-considered leg assembly, which also serves as a decorative detail.
The table has two extension leaves and, as was customary in those days, one leaf has a frame matching the main table, while the other has only a solid edge without a frame.
The piece has undergone a complete restoration: it was sanded and stripped of its old finishes, then protected at the final stage with several coats of hardwearing oil-wax resistant to stains and water, enhancing the beautiful grain of the wood.
Additional dimensions: each extension leaf is 50 cm wide, giving the table a maximum width of 218.5 cm. Height from the floor to the table frame (chair clearance) 63.5 cm.
