Description
Mahogany sideboard, Denmark, 1970s
Low sideboard manufactured in Denmark in the 1970s. It is made of an exceptionally interesting and rare wood: okoumé mahogany from Equatorial Africa, characterized by a slightly pinkish-brown hue. Due to its unique colour, it is highly valued by collectors and design enthusiasts. The wood grain is subtle and complements its overall aesthetic. It has six drawers. The handles are made of solid wood. It stands on tapered wooden legs. Contrasting edges emphasize the geometric, closed form of the piece. The qualities of this mahogany variety contribute to the aesthetics of this functional piece, whose form is characteristic of the Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern era.
The sideboard is preserved in its original vintage condition, with natural patina and minor signs of age.
