Vintage ceramic vase, 1960s
Description
Vintage ceramic vase, 1960s
An original, antique ceramic vase with a decorative, distinctive shape, dating from the mid-20th century.
The vase has an interesting, architectural silhouette with a wide, chalice-shaped mouth, a sharply tapering neck and a rounded body that transitions into a slender base.
The entire surface is covered in light blue glaze, complemented by decoration in shades of ochre, brown, white and golden yellow.
The distinctive bands have a partially relief-like, textured surface.
The form and decoration point to European decorative ceramics from the mid-20th century, most likely dating from 1955–1970.
As there is no maker’s mark or label, its origin cannot be determined with certainty, so I have not attributed it to a specific manufacturer.
The vase has retained a very attractive, authentic vintage appearance. Signs of age and use are visible, particularly minor scuffs and small chips or changes to the decoration and glaze, as shown in the photographs.
The base remains in its natural condition and bears no legible signature.
