Asta Elvira Strömberg, née Fernwall, was born on 27 February 1916 in the parish of Välluv in Scania and died on 22 November 2011 in Lund. From 1936, she was married to the engineer Eric Edwardsson-Strömberg; after his death in 1960, she took over the management of the family glassworks Strömbergshyttan, where she had worked as a designer for years.
Her designs refer to forms introduced at the glassworks in 1933 by Gerda and Edvard Strömberg: thick-walled vessels of classical form with faceted cutting that emphasises the material. She took part in exhibitions in the USA. Her works are held in Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and in museums in Buenos Aires, New York and Wilmington.
