He was born in Lviv in 1934. From 1954–1960, he studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (PWSSP) in Wrocław (now the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts) under Stanisław Dawski. From 1960, he taught at the institution and headed the Glass Department for many years.
He specialised in hot glass-forming; he created monolithic and openwork glass sculptures, as well as artistic and functional glassware and graphics. An example of his work is “Small Sculptural Form”, made of lead glass in 1988. In 2013, the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław published a monograph on him by Barbara Banaś.
