Miloslav Klinger was born on 10 January 1922 in Hrubá Horka and died on 5 July 1999 in Železný Brod. From 1936 to 1940, he studied at the glassmaking school in Železný Brod under Jaroslav Brychta, and from 1942 he studied at VŠUP in Prague in Karel Štipl’s studio; he completed his studies in 1948.
After completing his studies, he returned to Železný Brod as a designer of glass vessels and figurines, working there intermittently until 1982; he created some designs with Josef Cvrček. He was director of the glassmaking school in Železný Brod for three years, and in 1986 became a docent at VŠUP. He was among the creators of the Expo 58 style: he designed figurines and vessels for mass production, with simple geometric forms made of clear or coloured lead glass. His “Dancer” and “Pelicans” figurines are highly regarded.
