Niels Koefoed was a Danish furniture designer and the son of Einar Koefoed, who founded the Koefoeds Hornslet factory in Hornslet in the 1920s. The factory specialised in high-quality furniture, and its most popular product was dining chairs. According to available sources, Niels designed, among others, the Peter (1957), Lis (1961) and Eva (1964) chairs, as well as the Ingrid model from the 1960s.
In 2004, production was moved to Thailand; some designs are also produced by Casø. At MIDMOD, Koefoed chairs appear as individual pieces from the secondary market.
