The signature “P. Forssell” most likely refers to Pierre Forssell (1925–2004), a Swedish designer of brassware. He studied at Konstfack in Stockholm – first painting, then silversmithing. From 1955–1986, he worked for the brassworks Skultuna Messingsbruk, where he succeeded Erik Fleming. His designs comprise modern functional brassware from the 1960s and 1970s; items attributed to him found on the secondary market include candlesticks, decanters and vases. Skultuna offers a book dedicated to him by Thomas Lindblad.
