Per Arne Sundstedt was born on 19 June 1941 in Stockholm and died there on 14 May 2003. In 1964, he graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design; for his diploma project – the “Candela 1” bedside lamp – he was awarded a large silver medal by Svenska slöjdföreningen (Swedish Society of Crafts and Design). He then worked for Lampan (later Kosta Lampan), where he designed, among other things, the “Hinken” and “Candela” pendant lamps.
In the mid-1960s, he designed the “Rikta” desk lamp for the reading room of the Swedish National Archives in Stockholm. For ZERO Interiör, he designed the ps series and the “Berga” and “Bill” lamps, as well as the “Trix” lamp with Bengt Källgren, which received the Utmärkt Svensk Form distinction in 1989. For Ateljé Lyktan, he designed the “Mars” table lamp. In 2003, he received the Furniture of the Year award for the “Ving” stool.
