Tamara Aladin was born on 14 August 1932 in Hamina and died there on 9 March 2019. In the mid-1950s, she completed a ceramics course at Taideteollinen oppilaitos. From 1959 to 1976, she worked at Riihimäen Lasi Oy, designing functional glassware and models for export, sold mainly to Germany.

More than half of the vases produced by the glassworks in the 1960s were her designs. The best known are the Kehrä vase (1968–1976) and the Koralli series from the 1970s; under her own name, she designed more than 150 objects. She also designed bottles for Marli. She ended her work in glass in 1976, when Riihimäki ceased production of blown glass.
