The brothers Uno and Östen Kristiansson (often written as “Kristiansen” in commercial contexts) ran the Luxus company in Vittsjö from 1950, producing lamps, furniture and mirrors. Uno was a designer and electrical engineer: from 1947 to 1950 he worked in Stockholm on theatre lighting and lighting technology, and from 1950 to 1966 he collaborated with his brother on Luxus collections, which were also sold abroad. He stayed in the United States in 1956–1957, and from the 1970s worked on lighting for public spaces.
